Why this exists
Ledger started as a shared note between friends who kept texting each other “you have to hear this episode.” The finance-podcast shelf is crowded, and most “best of” lists read like they were assembled by a search engine. We wanted a shorter, honest index — one you could actually finish reading.
How the index is made
Every show on the index has to clear three bars: it explains money in plain language, it respects your time, and it has a track record you can trust. We listen to full episodes, not trailers, and we re-rank the index when something earns it.
- Plain language. Jargon is a tax on your attention. The best shows pay it for you.
- Respect for time. A tight 20 minutes often beats a rambling hour.
- Track record. We favour hosts who have been useful across market moods, not just bull runs.
What we don't do
We don't sell placement on the index, and we don't take money to move a show up. If that ever changes, this page changes first. Ledger is educational — nothing here is financial advice.
